Husband, Father & Doer who has not yet done enough.
I love the concept of Astonishing Your Customer(s). What brand manager doesn't want to do that and what customer doesn't want to be treated that way? The "how" is the hard part. I like to study the path that winning marketers and unconventional thinkers follow to create remarkable and relevant products, particularly those that build winning brands without the resources and methods afforded big brands. I am routinely floored by the piercing insights of folks like Seth Godin, Peter Drucker, Tim Manners, the Heath brothers, Bill Taylor and many more. This blog is like a cross between a Highlighter Pen and Cliff Notes, in that I try to follow Pete Carril's advice - "The Smart Take From The Strong". So, I will share ideas learned from the big thinkers and doers that will help you to Astonish Your Customer(s). Now and then I'll add my own thoughts as well. I am in the midst of a great career where I have served as a senior-level marketing and sales exec in big traditional consumer product companies (hence the need to study the mavericks) as well as two successful startups and am super optimistic about the future.
P.S. I place parentheses around the S in Customer(s) to emphasize that you can only win if you astonish each individual customer - all for one and one for all.
